Capital Health Research Fund
Capital Health Research Fund approved our application for funding a study entitled “Finding physiological indices of alertness in healthy young and older adults using electroencephalography (EEG)” (Yoko Ishigami-Doyle, Shaun Boe, Raymond Klein, Jason Satel, & Gail Eskes).
Aging and aging-related brain disorders often lead to impaired attention, so it is important for us to learn more about the attention system. In this study, we will look at how brain activity changes when people are “alerted” by cues or tones when performing an attention task. We hope that the results from this study will help us develop better rehabilitation tools or training techniques to improve attention.
