Heart & Stroke Rally

Yoko Ishigami-Doyle gave a community talk as one of the BrightRed Graduate Research Award recipients to the Heart and Stoke volunteer rally at the Cole Harbour Library on January 19, 2013.

Each year, the Heart and Stroke Foundation runs a campaign during the month of February to raise money door to door across Canada. They use local volunteers who canvass their own neighbourhoods. They host Heart rallies in January to motivate the volunteers, educate new volunteers on their role, and provide information for our volunteers to take with them while canvassing door to door. The presentation helps the Heart and Stroke inform their volunteers on where some of the money they raise is allocated.
